Registration-International Design Olympiad

Mandatory Information to know before registering your child for the International Design Olympiad:

  • Background:

    1. The International Design Olympiad is a creative journey for students spread over 3 innovative rounds

    2. Through this Olympiad, students are able to connect with their creative self by using their knowledge, experience, and imagination

    3. This competition allows students to think innovatively and let their imagination go wild

    4. The aim of the Olympiad is to help students identify and solve real-world problems at an early age

  • Steps:

    1. To start with, this creative competition does not require any preparation

    2. Round 1 is an assessment for the students to ascertain their creative potential

    3. Round 2 is a guided round with a facilitator providing the tasks to the students

    4. Round 3 is a mentored round where students build a prototype and present it to a jury

    5. All registered students will appear for Round 1

    6. All students with a Round 1 non-Zero score move to Round 2

    7. Selection to Round 3 is purely based on their performance in Round 1 and 2.

    8. Selection of Winners and Runner-ups is made by a Jury and the Design Derivatives Team

    9. Decision of the jury and Design Derivatives Team is final and non-negotiable

  • Celebration:

    1. E-certificates are given to all the participants

    2. E-certificates are sent via email after 4-weeks after all 3 Rounds of The International Design Olympiad are concluded

    3. Winners and 1st Runner -up in Round 3 will receive their Recognition certificates and prizes

    4. Meritorious students will be given exposure in print and digital media

  • Registration:

    1. The registration fees for Round 1 and Round 2 are Rs. 500

    2. Students selected for Round 3 pay a registration fee of Rs. 1000.

    3. Registration fees are non-refundable

    4. Registration will be confirmed via email from Razorpay

    5. All communication will be via email and a WhatsApp number given at the time of registration

    6. The email and WhatsApp number given should be frequently used (Please see Spam)

    7. Schools registered with forms given will be sent reports on participating students

  • Logistic Details:

    1. For all students grades 9 and below, all information will be sent to the registered parent’s WhatsApp number or email address

    2. All results of the Olympiad are provided on the Design Derivatives Website

    3. Prior to each Round, we conduct orientation sessions for both the parents and students to help them during this creative journey

    4. You must stay updated on the dates published and the notifications sent on the registered phone numbers for WhatsApp and email IDs

    5. No retests will be taken

    6. The Eklavvya examination service provides all the details required to attempt Round 1 through an automated SMS sent to the registered phone number

    7. All E-certificates will be sent to the registered email IDs only after the conclusion of Round 3 the IDO

  1. While registering your child you will be asked to give your email address and mobile phone number
  2. All communications by Design Derivatives, will be mainly through your registered email address
  3. Email address that you give should be the one which you frequently use
  4. If you are giving your work email, please make sure whether your company email server will allow emails from Design Derivatives and its associates (who are not vendors to your company)
  5. As a policy, for all students grades 9th and below, we will be sending all information to their registered parent email address regarding assignment of assessment, etc.
  6. On your registered email address, you will also receive emails from our associate company that provides a platform for online assessment. Typically, these emails are ‘no reply’ emails, which give details about the assignment of the assessment to your child with link (URL) and Roll number /User name /Password.
  7. Many a times, these emails may land up in spam or in other promotions folder, based on the configuration of your inbox. After you have registered your child for the International Design Olympiad, please regularly check and make sure whether emails sent by us are not dropped in spam or other promotions folders.
  8. We will not be making phone calls for any reminders
  9. On your registered mobile phone number you will get SMS from our online assessment service provider about the details of assignment of assessment, link and other details for the student
  10. You may send us a WhatsApp message on 9764089552 with student name, grade, school name, location and your name (parent) to us. We may use this number for any specific information that needs to be communicated urgently.
  11. Fees once paid is not refundable under any condition
  12. The fee receipt from our payment service provider is the receipt for your registration in the International Design Olympiad. You will not get any additional email from Design Derivatives about your child’s registration
  13. All rounds of International Design Olympiad are virtual /online
  14. Internet connection, Laptop / Computer with camera and microphone are expected at student’s home during the rounds of IDO
  15. Participating students should be comfortable using the computer systems
  16. International Design Olympiad is a competition 
  17. We always publish the results on our website for the selected students from Round 1 to Round 2 to Round 3.
  18. A virtual orientation is conducted before each Round. The indicative dates for when to expect results on our website are indicated during orientation
  19. Only the selected students get emails, indicating the next steps
  20. Specifically in Round 2 of the International Design Olympiad involvement of one of the parent during the session is required and will be detailed during orientation of Round 2.
  21. Easily available material and stationary requirement for Round 2 and Round 3 will be indicated during orientation which needs to be procured by the student at their own cost
  22. All students are provided e-certificate based on the level they reach in the International Design Olympiad. Report cards will not be provided for the same
  23. All e-certificates will be given after the completion of Round 3 and will be sent to your registered email address
